The Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a proven Service Technician to join their Rydalmere maintenance facility. You will be accountable for ensuring all overhauls, repairs, & testing are performed in a safe & efficient manner in accordance with company procedures.

Location: Rydalmere, NSW

Rate: $45.00 Per Hour + Penalty Rates & Super

Shift: Mon–Fri, 5am - 6:30am starts

Status: Immediate Starts (Ongoing to Permanent)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overhaul, repair & test product ranges including air compressors, brake callipers, pantographs, & general valve components.

  • Use hand, electric & pneumatic tools to refurbish components according to engineering drawings & task instructions.

  • Record all test outcomes, signing & dating documentation for finished assemblies.

  • Identify & stamp tested products (Batch/Serial No.) after passing quality checks.

  • Advise Lead Technician of inaccuracies in specs or non-conformance in tooling & equipment.

  • Recommend design changes to improve product quality or performance.

  • Participate in internal & external audits to ensure conformance.

Essential Skillsets, experiences, & culture requirements:

  • Mechanical Trade, Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent trade qualification is essential.

  • Minimum 3 years related experience in mechanical component repair & testing.

  • High level of knowledge in pneumatic & hydraulic systems & accuracy in technical reporting.

  • Experience with air compressors (reciprocating & screw type) is highly regarded.

  • Previous Rollingstock maintenance experience (locomotive, passenger & freight systems) is a plus.

  • Light Automotive mechanic experience is highly desirable.

  • Must hold valid OH&S White Card.

Desirables:

  • Valid NSW LF Forklift License.

  • Valid RIW Card.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a medical (including drug & alcohol), police check, & reference check.

  • Full Australian working rights & Australian residency.
